Shara fell in love with the plant-based movement in 2016 after seeing videos of animal agriculture thanks to Mercy For Animals. She stopped eating meat right then and there and then learned about the dairy and egg industries. In 2017, she declared that she would be vegan from then on. She started a blog and Facebook page called Vegan Living Today and is currently working on a Vegan Cookbook, along with helping coordinate Vegan Festivals.

In addition, he spends much of his free time studying debates, ethics, environmental science, and nutrition that relates to animal agriculture.

Shannon Blair

Director of Parenting and Activism

Shannon’s journey toward animal liberation really got going Thanksgiving Day, 1996, when she was just 9 years old. After she saw footage showing what happens to animals in order for them to end up on our plates, she never ate another animal again and immediately became an activist, stickering packages and holding demos outside of supermarkets. After about 2 decades of eating a vegetarian diet, Shannon was made aware of the atrocities occurring in the dairy industry — she had never heard this information before. She also watched Cowspiracy on Netflix and then made the decision to transition to a Vegan Lifestyle overnight. Shortly after, she found out how horrendous the egg industry is, another one she had been supporting during all that time as a vegetarian. Shannon now understood why those “crazy vegans” weren’t eating cheese or eggs — they weren’t so crazy after all. She got right back into activism — this time with more knowledge, more reasons, and an incredible amount of inspiration from her son, VeganEvan (who decided to go vegan the same day, even though she tried talking him out of it)! Shannon is fighting for the animals and for Evan’s future. She quit her job in 2017 to advocate, educate, and activate full-time. Shannon and Evan travel all over doing outreach & actions for the animals. They are in the process of starting up a new non-profit organization, the Animal Liberation Action Squad. Shannon is a Certified Vegan Lifestyle Coach & Educator.

Chadwin Taylor

Chadwin Taylor has experienced a dramatic weight loss journey and discovered that his son has autism — both which have led him to a vegan lifestyle. Although he claims to be no guru in the world of fitness, special needs or vegan nutrition, Chadwin offers a humble perspective on taking personal responsibility over the lives we live and the world we shape. One choice at a time, he has reshaped his relationship with food, with animals, with Mother Earth and has learned his most valuable lesson from his 6 year old son — unconditional love.

Vegan Evan

Youth Ambassador

VeganEvan is a passionate and talented young animal advocate committed to creating a healthy, compassionate, and regenerative world. He is President & Spokesperson for Animal Hero Kids and also a spokesperson for the Solutionary Species movement. VeganEvan has spoken in front of large audiences at several major events throughout the country including the What the Health-Cowspiracy Conference, Central Florida Earth Day, the Animal Liberation Conference, Tampa Bay VegFest, the National Animal Rights Conference, Asheville Vegan Fest, VegFest Oahu, and many more!!  He has been awarded the Russell Simmons Creative Animal Hero Kids Award, and in 2016, he earned PETA’s Cutest Vegan Kid award.  More recently he was awarded the Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion from the Supreme Master Ching Hai Association. VeganEvan is a voice for the animals everywhere he goes! He enjoys leafleting, protesting, doing marches, Open Rescue, disruptions, and making videos and rap songs! Evan also participates in Anonymous for the Voiceless Cubes of Truth and Vigils with the Save Movement wherever he travels. Most of all, he loves visiting all of his rescued friends at the sanctuaries where they are happy, safe and free from harm.

Beth Perera

I am positively crazy about plant-based nutrition, and my goal is to share what I’ve learned with every living soul who eats. This is not always a popular path on which to walk, but I know this is right for me and for the planet. One of my happiest moments on this journey was reading an article in a large, well-respected medical journal, asking physicians to recommend a plant-based diet to all patients.(1) Beth 2017 in blue apron holding book.

I ate everything for the first 47 years of my life, and like so many others, until I had a health crisis, I was not motivated to change anything. I consider myself one of the lucky ones, because I had the opportunity to make some changes. I had painful arthritis-like symptoms in my feet to the point where I could not comfortably wear shoes. Living in Vermont, I knew shoes were not optional, at least not in the winter! Arthritis “ran in my family,” with older relatives having knees and hips replaced. I was far too young for these aches and pains, so I started reading. What I discovered changed my life. I did some online reading, and then picked up the book Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. I discovered that arthritis did not run in my family; cheese ran in the family! I eliminated dairy products, and within seven months, my feet were back to normal. I was elated! Then I was angry… angry that this was not common knowledge. I purged my kitchen of all animal products and went on a binge… an educational binge. Read more here https://positivelyplants.com/

I am a born in 2004 member of Generation Z and I am a 17 year old vegan! I am a senior at Liverpool High School with plans to pursue a degree in Environmental Policy as my next educational step. As far as my life outside of academics and veganism, I am involved with many activities around my community and school! I founded a Campus Action Network for the National Organization for Women, am involved with the YMCA Youth and Government program at the state and national level, have been a Girl Scout for over six years, founded a Book Club at my school, am the president of our school’s Spanish Club! When I have time to spare, I love to read, thrift, and try new vegan restaurants with my friends! John Markadakis - Raw Food Advisor

Hello! My name is John and I am currently living in North Carolina. I am a commercial photographer, filmmaker, and licensed drone pilot focused on growing small businesses in the community, as well as shooting luxury real estate around the USA. I previously worked in the high performance automotive industry in Houston TX as a technician, machinist, and exotic car builder. I also have been running an e-commerce business importing rare parts for Japanese cars into the states for many years. I have lived in NY, NC, WA, TX, FL, and now back in NC after some traveling.

My hobbies include Listening to / DJ’ing electronic music, modifying Japanese and European cars, Night Street Photography, preparing meals, reading books, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends and talking about real world issues, events, and solutions.

I transitioned to an entirely fruitarian lifestyle in the latter part of 2019 and early 2020 after having some major health issues that lead me to frustration and dead ends with both eastern and western medical practices. I began my quest of reading and came across the profound works of Arnold Ehret, John Rose, Max Gerson, and Doug Graham. The new found knowledge changed my life, even after I was eating a Whole Foods Plant based diet since 2016. It was then that I really discovered the power of raw foods. My love for diet and nutrition created a new interest in reading works from Hilton Hotema, Tony Wright, watching documentaries about ancient civilizations, suppressed knowledge, ancient technologies and other interesting topics. I absolutely love eating ripe fruit from around the world, and sharing it with friends.

I have learned a lot about myself these last few years, as well as the truth behind the corporations and industries who purposely hide the truth about health from the publics eyes to profit from our sickness due to the continued consumption of these wrong

I look forward to helping to guide anyone looking to better their life and health through knowledge of the truth and food.

Dr. Rajiv Bajekal

Consulting Physician

Mr Rajiv Bajekal is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in spinal surgery.

He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1998 and has been working in London at the Royal Free London NHS foundation Trust since 2002. He has published widely and lectures Nationally and Internationally besides being a Senior examiner for the FRCS Orthopaedics.

In 2016 he had some personal health problems and had put on a lot of weight with time in the UK. He and his wife researched diet and nutrition and he embarked on a way of living a healthier life with compassion and care for the environment. In the process, he lost 25 kg of weight, reversed his prediabetes and found a new zest for helping patients live a healthier life,

He decided to study lifestyle medicine as a lot of the disorders affecting people nowadays are lifestyle related and he and his wife (Consultant Gynaecologist) both studied and passed the Diploma examination in Lifestyle Medicine conducted by the American board of lifestyle medicine, He and his wife Nitu are now certified lifestyle medicine practitioners with a Diploma from the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine- by far his proudest achievement.

Lifesyle medicine is a relatively new approach to the management of chronic diseases as a result of widespread recognition that conditions such as Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes etc. are totally preventable and can be reversed or ‘cured’ by changes in lifestyle, because they are in fact caused largely by lifestyle especially dietary excesses.

There is little doubt that conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiac problems, Eczema, Asthma, Alzheimer’s disease and indeed even a lot of Cancers are related to lifestyle of the patient. Until now, these were often blamed on ‘bad genes’ or unavoidable.

While the ill effects of smoking, overuse of alcohol, stress and lack of sleep are more clearly accepted by patients, they are often sensitive about their diet and most believe they have a ‘healthy diet’, based on what they have read.

Chronic health conditions cannot be managed purely by medication. That is a very naïve way of looking at it. Real change though must come from the patient. A lifestyle medicine practitioner is trained to give guidance, motivate, monitor change and assist the patient in a quest for better health. He and his wife now practice medicine hoslistically- looking at the causes and prevention of chronic illness while at the same time treating problems. They also lecture on lifestyle medicine and prevention of long term ill health.
